Based in Tanunda, Steinys Traditional Mettwurst has been producing quality mettwurst and smallgoods for well over 20 years. They specialise in traditional fermentation and smoking methods to create a true German style. The original recipe was brought to Australia by early settlers. Steinys Traditional Mettwurst is created using a fermentation process similar to beer, wine and bread, which destroys bacteria but also cures, creating a truly unique flavour. All of Steinys products are very high in protein and low in fat. Steinys use the best quality ingredients - lean beef, pork and quality spices. Smoking products with South Australian Riverland Mallee timber gives them unique flavour and enhances the curing.
